This monograph, Anticoagulant therapy in the PCI patient, is intended to explore the role of anticoagulant therapy in patients scheduled for percutaneous coronary intervention, particularly as it is evolving in regard to other components of antithrombotic therapy (i.e. antiplatelet therapy with aspirin and/or thienopyridines). Topics covered include mechanism of thrombus formation, pharmacology of different classes of anticoagulant agents, and relevant clinical studies.
