Status report on ACE and angiotensin type 1 receptor blockade
- An overall analysis of the data from RESOLVD, ELITE, and ELITE II on mortality and hospitalizations showed that while differences were not statistically significant, trends favor ACE inhibition rather than AT type 1 receptor blockade for the treatment of patients with heart failure.87-89
- The combined results of data on mortality and hospitalizations from the two losartan trials, ELITE and ELITE II,87,89 similarly favor the use of ACE inhibition in the treatment of patients with heart failure.
