Clinical Trials of GP IIb/IIIa Inhibition
- In TACTICS-TIMI 18, diabetic patients had a greater benefit than nondiabetic patients from an early invasive (<48 hours) strategy in terms of both absolute and relative reduction in 6-month event rates.
- All patients in the study were treated with aspirin, clopidogrel, and tirofiban.
- The results indicate that in diabetic patients with ACS, early assessment and revascularization (if indicated) is the strategy of choice (P values not reported).
