Profile of direct thrombin inhibition

  • Elevation in ALT >3x the upper limit of normal occurred in 37 (6%) of the patients in the ximelagatran group and 6 (1%) in the placebo group.1

  • As shown, ALT elevations in the ximelagatran group returned to baseline regardless of whether the drug was continued (n = 24) or discontinued (n = 13). The median time to normalization was 129 days.
