Clinical Insights, Risk Stratification, and Enhancing Outcomes
- The CRUSADE data demonstrated a dose-response relationship between the degree of excess dose and bleeding for UFH, LMWH, and GP IIb/IIIa inhibitors.
- After adjustment, patients receiving a mild excess of UFH had similar rates of bleeding as those receiving a recommended dose, but those receiving a major excess had a 31% increased risk.
- Any degree of excess GP IIb/IIIa inhibitor significantly increased bleeding risk.
